      Polyphasic Sleep.

I would like to know if there is anyone who uses a polyphasic sleep. And how it affects LD, if it improves/decreases the chance or ability to LD.
If anyone does polyphasic sleep please share your experiences. Also how you managed to be able to have polyphasic sleep.

      Have an image.

I did the siesta for a while, but it seemed to provide less dreams during the night and less vivid dreams during the afternoon nap.

I'm starting the Everyman's 3 Nap. I started today. I'm about to have core sleep again. I'm not super sleep deprived yet, but I have noticed it's hard to lay down for a nap. I usually lay down 35min before the alarm clock since it takes me a long time to actually go to sleep. I'll toss and turn at least 10 minutes. So far, just a bit fatigued. I've been looking up stuff about Polyphasic, and honestly there isn't a lot of information. People say it's unhealthy, they say it's healthy, they say it works and it doesn't work. Who knows? You'll have to try for yourself to see if it fits for you. Honestly, I wouldn't do the Uberman since it's extremely hard to do, that's why I went with one that's a bit easier. I was thinking that maybe you can get a schedule similar to Uberman where you can practice napping and get used to REM at a nap, then you could try to switch over avoiding you from becoming a complete zombie. I haven't tested it, but that may work. GL if you choose to do it, just know you better not have a job or anything that interferes.

If you'd like to see my progress on me trying the polyphasic sleep pattern, I started a little blog. http://www.xenithserver.com/polyphasic-sleep-log.html

Let your sub-conscious take over in your dreams until you one day may have the ability to take the wheel!

I believe our body was meant for a polyphasic sleep, except not the way that picture portrays it. Firstly it is natural to take a nap throughout the day which likely came from our origins from warm countries when it was too hard to work from 12-3ish, you can see that people have a reduced brain activity and dip in their energy during this time.
It is however known that a nap should take at least 45mins before you can fall into a deep sleep which none of these methods incorporate, and it states that every stage other than rem is useless...WTH where did that crap come from, it doens't take a genius to see that we might need rest to digest our food, clear our system, rest your spine etc etc.
I believe most methods of sleep are equally effective, in cold countries sleeping 8 hours makes sense, we sleep when its cold and we get a huge amount of all stages of sleep. In warm countries were people's bodies are put under a larger strain the refreshing 1-2 hour nap during midday is enough to refresh their mind and body and allow them to work late into the night.

Thank you all for your information. It was very helpful.
I am going to search more about it. If I find something useful I will post it here.
