      Segmented sleep

Today I have been reading about polyphasic sleep and found out about segmented sleep (sleeping to times for 3.5 hours during the night with a hour or two "break" from sleeping). I found this website. There is a clear explanation why segmented sleep would be beneficial. Itmakes dreams more vivid and there is a much bigger chance of getting a LD. I am willing to try this. If everythings ok I'll start doing this from the following night. Does anyone else use this kind of sleep schedule? If yes how did it work?

So, basically you wake up in the middle of the night and take a couple hours of break before going back to sleep? Seems like WILD to me.

You can read up the WILD Tutorial in the wiki. I'd give you a link, but I'm not allowed as of yet. You can find the wiki tab at the header of the site. All you do is that you create a scheduled alarm or something similar to wake up in the middle of the night, stay up for an hour or so, and then go back to sleep in a relaxed position. It is known as the easiest and as well as the most difficult to pull of LD'ing methods. I've heard that it's not recommended to newbies though.

Perhaps a more experienced lucid dreamer can answer your query better.

The reason why I posted it in "Sleep and Health" forum is that I wonder how does it affect your sleep and is it a better way to sleep, because when there was no artificial light people used to sleep like this (wake up in the middle of the night, be awake for 1 or 2 hours and head back to sleep). I know about WBTB and that. I just wonder about dream recall and overall being. But thanks for your post.
