      Electronics before bed

Hello! Thought I'd share this, though most people probably have some sort of idea of this already.

I read an article recently by some sleep researcher or other about the light emitted from computer monitors, TVs, and cell phones. The short-length light waves from these things will greatly disrupt the production of melatonin. The researcher suggests not using them for an hour or more before bed time to get the easiest sleep.

Just crossed my mind and thought it might be useful for some people to know. Have a nice day

Yes, I can confirm this. I went on a vacation to Alaska, and used very little electronics (computer, ipod, and such). And my dream recall there was fantastic! Then I came back here, and starting using my computer more, and my dream recall started to fall.

      PS: Oregon, woot!

This is not very conclusive at all though. Generally, moving to a new place, for example on a vacation, will tremendously increase your dream recall, because your brain has a lot of new material to process while you sleep.

Using displays before bed supposedly just impedes falling asleep. I personally don't have this problem, I'm guessing my body has simply adapted.

Yeah, I have not had good recall lately and it might be because I always use my tablet or computer before bed. I need to stop that, lol.
