Wellbutrin, lasting effects?

First post here, so happy to have found a site like this :)
I've read a lot on here that most wonky dreams go away after a few weeks on Wellbutrin... Well, I'm on month 3, and they've only gotten more real and vivid.
I sometimes wake up and have to check my phone or the time or my bank account thinking that I've made plans with someone or called in sick to work or even made a huge splurge on something I really can't afford. My dreams are rarely ever unrealistic. I find myself thinking I've had conversations with friends that I haven't and in turn confuse them.
I take Wellbutrin as an anti depressant, but I am also a smoker. In the past couple months I have all but quit smoking. Could this be affecting the craziness of my dreams? In the past few days I haven't had one puff and my dreams have been the most vivid and real. Should this start to wind down as I continue not to smoke?
It's just gotten to the point that I sometimes can't tell the difference between reality and a dream.

I've had similar experiences.

I do not take any medication personally, although I quit smoking reefer 18 days ago. Since then, I've had some of the most vivid dreams that I've had in eight years (when I started smoking herb). The vividness has yet to subside.

I've had pretty profound LD experiences while under the influence of psychedelic drugs such as LSD, mescaline, and of course DMT. Some of these dream experiences led me to believe that I had actually acted out the events in reality. It was extremely bizarre, but during that period is when I truly learned to tell the difference between reality and my subconscious mind. It just takes some basic meditation to speed up the process.

That could possibly be, it's also unsurprising that you've found yourself quitting. Wellbutrin is also prescribed under the name Zyban for smoking cessation. It, along with it's antidepressant effects, also blocks nictonic acetylcholine receptors. When I was prescribed Wellbutrin in the past, it made smoking absolutely unenjoyable. Eventually it even made it downright disgusting, I couldn't take the taste or the smell or even the thought of one. Anyway, I digress. Given Wellbutrin is a dopamine-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and also affects acetylcholine function, and you quit smoking which further changes acetylcholine function, it doesn't surprise me that your dreams are very vivid. Try and enjoy it if you can.
