Angry It's too hot for me to sleep

So, basically, it's Summer, right ? Summer means you are going to get your fan, but even that doesn't help me alot.
Even going naked asleep, it's not cold enough, and i hate sleeping without putting something on myself (it's like my sheets is an armor against some sort of horror character that want to kill me) so i hardly get to sleep without waiting half an hour or so. Can anybody tell me a great way to get cold in those situations ?

Move from France to the United States. In the US more people have air conditioning, so we can make our homes cold even in the summer.

More seriously though: Make sure to not wear socks, maybe you can just uncover your feet to cool down; get a very thin cover; drink a cold drink before sleep or take a cool shower or bath; go with less sleep one night and then you will be more tired the next night hopefully; distract your mind with daydreaming or such to hopefully not think as much about the heat; if you have some flexibility about where to sleep consider trying to sleep on the floor on a mattress in a cooler room in the house if there is one - most homes have warmer and cooler rooms; get a stronger fan or more than one fan.

Those are just some ideas I brainstormed right now, and i bet there are others. All that said, I very much remember having trouble sleeping in heat when I still lived in Europe. It's an issue.

I hear ya. I'm the same exact way. I can't sleep without something on top of me but it is too hot here for me to get a decent night's rest. It is horrible and preventing me from my lucid dreaming journey. The heat kind of gives me really weird dreams too.

You can buy Air Conditioners for pretty cheap in some shops. Or check out Amazon, they might have something that you could use...

Other than that, I could only recommend getting a really thin blanket to put over you as you sleep.

Remember that Heat Rises! going downstairs and sleeping on the couch might be all you need! Also turning down the thermostat might be a help. Even by 1 degree. If it comes down to it, stick your box fan out the window. Helps to circulate the air.

I'm the same way with blankets.
Other tips, all of which I've tried and have worked for me at some point under different circumstances:

      - wrap some ice up in a towel or something then rub it over you whenever you get hot (i used to do this and it worked well except the ice melts eventually... however it stays cool for longer than if you just wet a cloth)

      - if it's cooler outside, put a fan by an open window (works best with 2 open windows so air can flow through but that isn't always possible)

      - get a good strong fan to blow at you, one strong enough that it doesn't just feel like it's 'pushing hot air around'

And summer's almost over, so your problem should be gone soon.
