So for awhile now I've been getting back into lucid dreaming and up to now I have been unsuccessful. Ill wake up naturally after seven hours of sleep or so (its usually around 6-7 am) and will immediately go to the bathroom and then try to go back to bed. I don't know why but for awhile I haven't been able to fall back asleep and I usually have a hard time falling back asleep. Has anyone experienced this or know how I can fix this?

You know what? I have a hard time falling asleep in general for the past few weeks because of me thinking about Lucid Dreams. My advice to you is have 6-7 a.m be your new time to get out of bed! I wish I can get up that early, but instead I wake up at 10:30-11:20.. It frustrates me soo badly! But if you REALLY want to go back to sleep, try to put a couple drops of vanilla oil on a tissue and put it in your pillowcase.. This seems to help a little bit for me... You could try waking up earlier, or not drinking so much late at night so you don't need to go to the toilet.
Are you stressed out about anything? Stress can play a big part in lack of sleep, so if you are, try to determine what's causing the stress and get rid of the problem :)
If it comes to it, you can take medication to calm down your bladder.
You could be excited at your attempt. That always seems to happen to me. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any method to "calm down".
Yeah I think maybe I'm focusing on falling asleep and dreaming and stuff that it just makes me not fall asleep. Maybe getting up earlier for WBTB would be better for me. Does anyone else get like dry lips or anything to cause I think that might be keeping me up as well. Thanks everyone for the advice helps a lot

Are you open to trying meditation? It's a fantastic way to bring yourself into a totally relaxed state thus making it easier to sleep.
I used to wake up all the time, over sleep, get up to use the toilet all the time. Now I try and meditate every evening before I go to bed or a as soon as I get back from work and I sleep like a baby.
I've also noticed how it's vastly improved my dream recall and sleep quality.

I've found that no matter when I go to sleep, my body only requires a certain amount of sleep. I got to bed at 11 pm every night and usually wake up just before my alarm goes off at 6 am. If I go to bed earlier than that, I'll wake up earlier. And of course if I go to be later I still have to get up at 6 am (damn it!) for work. Lol. If I were to go to bed after midnight I wake up feeling like I have a hangover . . . My body seems to know how much sleep I need and calls it when it's time - I seem to have an excellent internal clock.

Last night I set an alarm for 4:30 to WBTB an so I woke up and didnt even get out of bed. I just made myself aware and did that for like 10-15 mins. And I could not fall back asleep until like 6. I tried to just let my mind wander and relax but i think i was just forcing it too much. I think meditation Is definitely something I should try because I don't think I'm relaxed at night. Thanks for the tips guys :)
Avoid caffeine at night.
Try melatonin.
Try doxylamine succinate.
Try lemon balm.
