Chonic Pain Suffering, My Sleep Journal

I have chronic pain and sleep apnea which make it hard for me to sleep for more than about three hours. This journal chronicles my battle with chronic fatigue syndrome, narcolepsy, insomnia, sleep apnea, and chronic pain. Maybe this can help others suffering from chronic pain get a good night's sleep.

      11/27/2013

      General Pain Today: 4/10
      Fatigue: 2/10
      Narcoleptic Attacks: 1
      Sleep Apnea attacks: 1
      Wakes from pain: 2

For some reason, I can remember my dreams from my deep sleep, but not my lighter sleep. My fingers are beginning to hurt, need to stop typing soon.

Wasn't able to eat dinner at a normal time because of pain. Ate around midnight, fell asleep around 1am. Slept most of the night, woke up around 7am. my arm hurts like hell right now.

Woke up to take a piss, and our blind cat, Gypsy, woke up and took a poop like she always does. I must absolutely clean in it up right away which also involves turning on a fan, and opening up windows and curtains. Then I go outside and take it out to the trash. This wakes me up muchly, of course, and it makes it hard to remember your dreams when cat poop smell fills your nose.
I ate some homemade bread I made yesterday, drank water, brushed my hair, and had a BM. O Goddess, I am glad I am not homeless anymore. I like toilets and walls.
Hopefully my noisy cat goes to sleep soon. She talks a lot because, I think, she's blind, and also she's bored and wants to go outside a lot, but we can't let her unless she's on a leash. She doesn't realize how dangerous it is for her.

regarding your sleep apnea - do you have large tonsils by any chance?

I may. I don't think I do, but my sister had hers removed. She was told her tonsils were enlarged, but to me that says she was sick, not that she needed surgery.

Fell asleep around 8 or 9 due to narcolepsy/fatigue without eating a full dinner. I can't eat too much before sleeping, or I will get acid reflux. Woke up about an hour ago, and cooked some vegan curry fried rice. There is a rainstorm going on, but that helps me sleep. Our cat has been yowling. Hopefully she'll sleep through the night, so so can I. I am glad I don't have to work until the evening tomorrow. I fell asleep and woke so quickly that I didn't remember any dreams.

      Dear WakingNomad

      I love this song

      ***

      Especially the line

May God bless and keep you always*

May your wishes all come true

May you always do for others*

      And

      let others do for you

May you build a ladder to the stars*

      And climb on every rung

      May you stay forever young

The old man singing it is Bob Seeger and he died a couple of days ago aged 94.

I want to thank you for all yor wonderful work on Dreamviewers. And hope you and your wife get totally better soon and have no more pain, soon.

I was looking for pain control meditation for my own nerve pain. And came across this very good Youtube:

The Phantom-limb cure box is facinating. He mentions meditation briefly. And he goes into pain meds in detail. I'll put it here so I can find it easy for myself.

      The McKenzie Method

I am going to a physio tomorrow. I read the pamphlets then (just now), Googled. I found this and thought of you, WakingNomad.

Treat Your Own Neck by Robin McKenzie

      saves Danny from Spinal Surgery

Danny had a severe onset of Neck Pain in May 2011. Eventually he became bedridden and had disabling pain and loss of function in his right arm.

He received specialist advice, a variety of treatments and many recommendations of surgery. He avoided the surgery option, but none of the other remedies worked. Instead he lived on a cocktail of pain-killers, anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants.

In desperation he searched the internet and found

"Treat Your Own Neck" by Robin McKenzie (world renowned spinal expert).

Through this book Danny has managed to reduce his pain and recover movement in his arm.

It took perseverence, dedication and patience but it paid off.

He has come off his cocktail of pills and is now a HAPPY man.*Treat Your Own Neck by Robin

McKenzie is available worldwide and has sold 2 million copies. Try It For Yourself - Self Treatment works for around 70% of people.
