Sounds becoming louder when trying to sleep

I consider myself a very sensitive person in terms of things having to be 'just so' for me to be able to have a comfortable sleep. I've suffered from lack of sleep earlier but this have gotten much better after I started taking Seroquel before going to sleep. Although this isn't really a thing that bothers me a lot seeing as I live alone and have an optimal sleeping environment that suits me. I am still curious to hear if anyone else has experienced this.

I have friends who are perfectly able to fall asleep to people talking, music and similar things, I also have people who prefer to listen to music when falling asleep and fall asleep easier when listening to music. I tried the same thing but I experience something strange; as I am drifting off to sleep the music, conversations or sounds become louder and louder, even if the music is on a very loud volume it becomes insanely loud, almost painful! It is like someone is slowly turning up the music and it becomes impossible to fall asleep to it.

      Anyone else experience this?

I have the same thing. I like using a fan to WILD, and when I am close to the transition, the sound becomes insanely high, like a roar. I want to ask you a question. During the nights that you fall asleep normally, how much time does it take? If it was little, then you are a great candidate for WILDing
I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.

Usually I fall asleep quite fast on Seroquel.

I don't know what this 'WILD' is.

It is a way to enter a dream directly from waking consciousness. See the Wiki to find a tutorial about it

I used to have the false awakening phenomenon when I was a kid. My brain truly hates me! I would dream that I woke up and the room would appear just like it did when I went to sleep, except my brain has placed ONE item that shouldn't be there (a teddy bear, a poster) and AS SOON as I notice that object my brain takes me on a hellish nightmare.

I had a similar thing. My first LD was like this:
I saw a weird thing, and when I was wondering, I got teleported to a dark room. I looked at my hand and it was missing 2 fingers. I immediately knew I was dreaming, so I got excited.
Really for me, when I become lucid, nothing else matters.
Your brain doesn't hate you! Dreams are made of RL experiences with a little other things (it's more complicated, but you get the idea), and expectations and schemas drive the dream. So, it's your fault for expecting the worst

In regards to looking at your fingers, I read this about a year ago as an advice to transform a dream into a lucid dream. I read that I should try counting my fingers, so I tried it during my dream and knew it was a dream and then I took a leap off my veranda and went on an awesome flight through a beautiful landscape!

I LOVE flying in my lucid dreams. Nothing compares!

The dream has to be well stabilized to experience the full impact and joy, right?

Not really. As soon as I get the chance to count my fingers, I do so, if it doesn't add up then I can do anything, so I go flying right away.
