Good luck! Hopefully you don't feel like a zombie for too long |

Well after a lot of time putting this off I decided to start with polyphasic sleep and Everyman is the best option for my schedule. I'm doing a core of 4.5 hours and two naps during the day. Just opened the thread to keep logging in here and to rant a little about how tired I am right now, as I haven't started yet, I'm going to be sleep deprived for 24 hours then start the new schedule. |

What kind of fool, what kind of fool am I? I look for shadows in the sun, and memories of days to come.
Let me know how this routine works out. It isn't really "the everyman", but it is an alternative style of sleeping, so interesting to me. |

Yeah well since my schedule is pretty tight I couldn't use the typical everyman which is 3.5 core and three naps so I found this other which suits better. I already broke the sleep privation stage and took a first nap that felt amazing, really, I thought I was going to die . Now I had to take the second one but I don't feel sleepy at all, my body feels tired but I don't feel like sleeping. |

The problem with polyphasic sleep cycles is that you need to be able to sleep whenever you feel like it. It makes it difficult. Make sure to drink enough water, because that can make you feel tired, and you don't need any distractions. I used to sleep about 4.5 hours a night with no naps :3 it was pretty bad. I talked and moved at the same speed as humans do.t |

I'm quite worried about the health effects of such sleep schedules. You can try doing simple cognitive tests before and after implementing the schedule and see if there are any differences. If your scores are worse - it means it's not healthy. Lack of sleep or interrupted sleep has the potential to kill brain cells and decreases your immunity to say the least. |

Actually, some polyphasic sleep schedules are healthier than normal monophasic sleep. Those would be DC and segmented and siesta, but it's not like everyman is unhealthy. Some people report being less tired/sleepy after adapting to even more sleep reducing schedules. |

Actually if I get to make it work and feel fine it would be awesome as I've never had a proper sleep schedule and that affected my mood during this years because of school and stuff, so it would be great to stay awake at late hours and be ready and refreshed for university. If I see this doesn't work I may try another one. |

Good luck Astaroth! Stay safe and hydrated as stated above . I attempted Everyman in the past but failed since I couldn't adjust to my naps. This was also while at college so having school made it hard to adjust as well. Oversleeping and comfortable places (couches, beds, armchairs ect) are your nemesis. Also I noticed that I had a craving for dairy, specifically milk and cheese, more than usual. That could relate to a lack of diet somewhere due to staying awake more, but I've not looked it up. Definitely keep us posted! |
|
You've chosen the way to go, Astaroth; I hope you can get it to work for you. |

Well there're some news. I made it to the second day without being that tired, it's more the mental exhaustion and random thoughts that the physical burden. I felt asleep for like two minutes standing against the fall . |
