Polyphasic Sleep

After years of monophasic sleep I've finally decided on going polyphasic. There are two sleep schedules that I am looking at, siesta and segmented. Siesta fits my week schedule exactly. I rarely get more than 7 hours of sleep, and my school schedule is timed so that I get home just in time for a nap. However, on the weekends, segmented seems much better. It is supposedly the healthiest (and default for humans) sleep schedule, and the second half of it increases lucid dreaming. I cannot do this during the week though, because it requires 7+ hours of sleep. My question is, would it be possible to do siesta in the week and segmented on the weekends? I'm not sure if I would be able to switch that quickly.

^^ I think that once you've adjusted to polyphasic sleep in general, switching between the two versions you list will likely not be a problem. I also have a feeling your weekends will yield much better lucid results, BTW; a segmented schedule is probably more effective.

Hello! I just adapted to the Everyman Schedule (3.5 core sleep, 3x 20 min naps). I love it!

I'd like to see how many others in this community are interested in Polyphasic sleep. Its a powerful way to live for sure.

My schedule that works well with my "9 to 5" job is:
10 PM - 1:30 AM Core sleep
5:30 AM Nap 1 - 20 min
12 PM Nap 2 - 20 min
5:30 PM Nap 3 - 20 min

What about health, social and dream problems through polyphasic sleep?

I did the Everyman for 8 months in 2016 (Jan - August). It was incredible. The recovery happens through the naps after day 20. Then it is smooth sailing for the most part. First 20 days are rough...but I found some other hacks that helped.

It fascinated some sleep researchers at Stanford. They now invite me to lecture at the Stanford Sleep and Dreams course, which I've done the last two quarters and expect to be invited back. Title of the lecture "Sleep Hacking"
