      Psychology; Becoming Whole

This forum needs a psychology subforum

So I have trouble accessing Long-term memories. Especially prominent in social situation, changing environments and use of distractions. In social situations it's probably stress of perfomance that gets me. In changing environments I think that it's cues such as being outside that remind me of past states that are good. Inside, the states are usually bad. The distractions keep me busy and not-thinking, that might hurt.

I presume that association is a big-thing for regaining long term memories. But I don't know how to work with this. My goal will be to completely analyze and reconcile past situations that occur, maybe due to bad habits or something else entirely. With goal to become a wholer, happier person. Lucid dreaming would be a nice addition. I think this unconscious unfeathering of thought/emotion processes will help the essence of lucidity. Any takers?

I found a little gem in my mind dealing with emotional association. Ever had Nostalgia for things in the past? And I don't mean Mourning for Dead people. I'll give you an example of what I mean. When I hear tracks of old Super Nintendo games my mind just wants to be a little kid playing Donkey Kong and Super Mario with my big sister.

The pain comes when I "Quote unquote: Realize.." this is not possible. But it dawned on me. I CAN feel this way again. Just download Donkey Kong and play it with ur friends. Or if yo don't have friends, or ur sister is busy, make friends who want to play Donkey Kong. Why the hell not?

This does something amazing to the feeling of Nostalgia. It's no longer a feeling of the past. I feel like i've re-intergrated my past self in a new me, in combination with the skill-set that I managed to assemble during all other life experiences. It's like being the innocent kid with the wisdom of an "Quote unquote: Adult".

      Hah!
