      I am dreaming very vividly without entering REM sleep?

      I recently participated in a sleep study where my sleep cycles, breathing patterns, eye movement etc was closely monitored. Apparently I spend very little or sometimes no time in REM sleep. My dreams have been very wild lately, and I usually wake up a few times through the night. I have been able to achieve a certain level of lucidity on some occasions. Does this mean lucidity is possible without entering the REM stage?

      Sageous has covered this topic to some degree in a thread about discussing NREM in Beyond Dreaming I believe. I think he claims to have gotten lucid in a few. Check out this thread:
