Ok, I was on these forums reading through the thread and I read about a person who has saliva gather in there mouth when trying to WILD, and they have to swallow making it very annoying. Well I tried a WILD and just as I was getting close I remembered that thread, and well guess what, Saliva started buidling up in my mouth and I had to swallow. Now it has been bugging me all day, and when I'm not thinking about it, I don't need to swallow, then when I think about it, I have to swallow, and I always think about it when going to sleep. Now I cannot get to sleep because when I have to swallow it makes me annoyed cause I won't be able to WILD if I have to swallow. Help me I really can't get to sleep now and i'm so tired!

Squash a lemon, and you'll be fine
You mean, you can't go to sleep at all, or you simply cant WILD? If it's only the latter, i suggest you stop trying to WILD for a while and see what happens. If it's both, is it that bad to swallow saliva? Maybe you're giving too much thought?

Salvia divinorum. It is an herb. Sage. Otherwise I would suspect it would be illegal.
However it is meant to be used sublingually. If you swallow the salvia our system creates an enzymatic reaction, basically ..digestion. This results in a very mild experience if one at all. So to avoid this try to swallow any saliva from your mouth and then place it under your tongue. Try to resist swallowing.
If you have the extract in liquid form or in a leaf form also makes a big differance.

That is about salvia. Now in regards to lucid dreaming:
I am confident enough to say that the salvia experience may help lucid dreaming in only the manner to which it may give your mind an expanded knowledge of what it may know of reality and conscious states. So too does lucid dreaming.
However that does not mean they go hand in hand. Taking salvia will not directly enhance you lucid dreaming. I would think of it more as a tool to be able to relate to altered states of consciousness.
Our mind, so far as I have witnessed works best naturally. Smoking marijuana, taking LSD, salvia divinorum, X-tra doses off vitamin B, etc. etc.-- are at best, placebo effects.
What people need is the the right balance that your body requires, then so called lucid aidsare highly overrated.

Salvia is almost impossible to get in Australia, and it is illegal here too. My problem is, I get so worked up over having to swallow all the time, I always thinking, oh no my WILD's are ruined now, i'll never be able to do it, just when I started to get really close to getting one to work. I will just leave it for a while and hopefully forget it or something.

Are you saying people on LSD who hallucinate or jump off buildings, only are doing it because of a placebo? I find that pretty hard to beleive. Or are you saying people who take LSD in order to advance there LD's, it only works because of a placebo effect?

Sorry I am unclear.
"Or are you saying people who take LSD in order to advance there LD's, it only works because of a placebo effect?"
That is what I mean.
Taking these things can expand your experience of an illusory states conscious, to a degree.
Aiding and technicallly helping to induce lucid dreaming? I cannot see how this would be a direct help when directly applied to any off the suggested commonly known techniques.

Read the guys post, he said SALIVA, no one has mentioned Salvia.

Jetty, If the thought of swallowing is keeping you awake then you probably aren't very tired, try doing some exercise during the day so you are fall asleep the moment you hit the pillow.

FYI, At low doses salvia can easily induce lucids when smoked before bed. At high doses you can directly enter an LD from being awake. If 20X salvia is combined with an MAOI, you can easily have an OBO more real than any LD. I don't recommend Salvia to people though because if its done incorrectly you can have an extremely bad experience. People who are meant to do it have already seeked it out for themselves, so I never bother to advocate it.

I sateboard normally around 2 hours a day with a surf another 2 hours, so I do exercise. That day I had a 3 hour nap, so I musn't of been tired cause of that. I also agree, psychedelics increasing Lucid dreams would be a placebo, LSD has risks like psychosis, does Salvia also?

Yes, taking a 3 hour nap would make me restless at bed time too. Salvia is powerful and sacred, it has to be taken seriously. It takes a lot of mental and physical preperation. I only use it to leave my body about once a year because I have to wait for the perfect oppurtunity or else I am afraid I will have a bad experience. I have had my fair share of bad salvia trips and they are worse than anything. When I first tried to leave my body I did not take enough of the MAOI so I fell short, instead of leaving me body I had to watch reality rip apart for what seemed like eternity, when my thoughts were coherent I was extremely sad because I felt I would never see my family again, during the most intense parts I was terrified beyond reason, I didn't know who or what I was, or where I was, all I could see is undescrible chaos. When I worked up the courage to try it again more than a year later, and now every time since then, I have had great experiences because I now know how much MAOI to take. Each time the experience is completely different. Typically though I only use Salvia by smoking a very small amount of the 20x before meditation, without any MAOI, it gives me a much deeper meditation, which in turn improves my lucids. When I am depresesd though I do not use Salvia because it intensifies your mood, even at low doses it is important to be in a good mood and very calm. Also because of salvias strange makeup and the fact that it is not an alkaloid, the body has to be exposed to it several times before it learns to metabolize it, unless you use an MAOI right off the bat. So don't be discouraged if you smoke some and feel nothing, keep trying the 20x everyday and within a week it will start working, once it works your body will remember it for the rest of your life. I always recommend using 20x so you don't have to smoke lots of plant matter , a good source of 20x is http://www.bouncingbearbotanicals.com , If you try this drug though, HAVE A BABYSITTY, I have seen people try to jump out of windows, run out into the road, etc. Once you've done it a few times with a babysitter, then you can determine how you will react and it may be safe to do it alone. If you really want to learn how to use Salvia to leave your body, just message me and I'll explain it. As far as pychosis, even LSD when used correctly does not cause psychosis, it only gets the bad rap because its so potent you can easily take way more than you should, not to mention the vast majority of what is now called acid on the streets is just a combination of phenethylamines and poisons. If you want a drug that will cause psychosis then try something from the nightshade family =)

hehehe, I used that term to say I'd been really close that night.

(which I was.... felt my feet starting to sink, and the ringing in my ears, I just kept trying to think of a scenario for my mind to take over on, and it kept blocking me out)
