I like it when I get to sleep like this: ... (I am waiting for surgery as a carpenter, so I can not work at the moment. So I sleep only when I want to sleep. )

First 3 hours, where I can spend years in dreams, dreaming about the day that was... (..often starting of with a seamless transition in to the dreamscape's.)

Then I seem to "wake up", and go back to sleep, only to wake up 2 hours later, and feel totally rested...
(Seems my body/brain does a full rebuild always within +/- 2 hours... Provided I ate enough/'the right' food the day before. Which can be harder than it might sound.)

Then again I seem to "wake up", and go back to sleep, only to wake up 3 hours later, not forgetting about my dreams, ...

The last 3 hour session, almost always being only dreams where I know I am dreaming...

I usually sleep for 8-10 hours, as you might have seen already...

And I like to throw in another 3 hours, after the last 3 hour session, and dream some more, (being aware that I am dreaming.) ...

      Oh the freedom!
I am so glad I find more and more ways to integrate that freedom here!
I know who I am, as I become...

The planet Earth exhibits all of these properties and therefore can be considered alive and its own single organism by the scientific definition.

does the planet Earth reproduce, well no unless you count the moon.

Well, his dreaming in the first 3 hours is odd.
Are you sleeping during the day? Cos that would explain it. Your circadian rhythm is causing you to REM for the first 3 hours.
Wish I could sleep for hours whenever I liked.. lol

Not during the day, no. I usually sleep from around midnight, to 8-12 in the morning...

I think I am the same. I sometimes have vague dreams till 4.30am ish. I wake about 4.30am, then either meditate for an hour or so,
but hopefully drop into dreaming again thinking of the best last dream or I repeat a scenario over and over in my head of what I want to dream linking the prior dream.
This way if I can't get back to sleep I am prepping myself with meditation anyway for the next 90 min rem cycle (also saying ot myself "it will be Lucid" and "I will know it's a dream").
This also allows a rem cycle to pass if I can't get back to sleep and I can enter the next one at the beginning (hopefully).
Sounds complicated, but the normal pattern (Just formatted positively). During the 4.30am-6am I have dreams that are clearer and I can follow, but not controlled or Lucid.
I wake at 6amish and for a minute or two prep for next sleep pattern. I find usually the next dream is at least close to what I want, and this morning was a controlled LD! (my 2nd one in 2 nights since chidhood - 30 years ago)
I don't know if it was the 90 mins of prepping foir it, or if it would happen if I prepped for 2 mins at 6am to keep it fresh. Maybe it doesn't matter.
Anyway, this was in the 6am-7.30am rem period. I usually find myself clutching for the LD again in the 7.30 am-9am rem period, but things start to get noisy and such with my wife getting up and stuff.
      Your thoughts?
