      Well...

Lately I've been having a problem. This is that, my insomnia has hit its peek. This makes it increasingly difficult for me to actually sleep, but thats the least of my worries for now. Every time I try to actually go to bed or use sleep meds to fall asleep, I'm plagued by these horrific nightmares that are so vivid and seem so real, that right now as I type this, I have shivers going up my spine thinking about it. I need some advice, please respond asap.

      Thanks,
      Andy

Huh. When your insomnia was less severe, did you still have nightmares?

The most common reason for nightmares is stress or unresolved issues in waking life. Do you have one too many of those?

As for insomnia, what's your lifestyle like? The best way to get to sleep at night is to get plenty of exercise during the day and eating healthy.

Yeah, I had the nightmares befor the insomnia came back. It's weird, the nightmares are getting worse and worse. And yeah I'd say I have some stress in my life, but not too much.

As for my lifestyle, I'd say it ok. I eat reasonablely healthly. I exercise a lot. I walk and run a lot everyday, and skateboard aswell.

A weird thing though, I only seem to get nightmares when I lye down and face the ceiling. Like last night, I went to my bed laid down, started to dose off and then I remember having a dream. I was trying to get into this room that had the door locked. I knew a friend of mine was in there. I thought it was a prank or something. Finally he opened the door, it was my friend cory. He stared at me for a moment and then his face tracedformed into this horrifying creature and he jumped at me with both hands open. I woke up then. But the scariest part is that, as I was waking up it felt like someone smacked both sides of my pillow. Almost as if this thing came out of my dream...

I'm not an expert by any means... in fact you probably know a more plausible reason than me... but speaking from a neutral perspective can't hurt, right?

It sounded to me like your own fear of having nightmares might actually be feeding itself... As if it was starting to snowball on you, you know? Can I ask how long you've been LD'ing for? If you have, that is? It sounds like your lifestyle is healthy so it may be more of a thing within the mind than the physical body. Are you slightly paranoid about actions your friends are taking? I'm assuming by your post that you could still be in high school or education of some kind, of which I remember fretting about what others think of you is a great concern (I'm 19, and still have those frets to be honest. )

At a blatant standpoint, Cory was the central essence of the nightmare after transforming into something unpleasant, so it could be paranoia that someone is doing something behind your back, which's a natural thing to think about.

But all in all the thing that stood out to me is the way you're concerned about how these images are coming around more frequently and are actually becoming fearful of sleeping, again it may just be snowballing on you. How long has this gone on for? I know this is easier said than done but you need to remind yourself that dreams are just that, and they're not life threatening, they're movie reels that you'll be able to entirely manipulate if you begin to practice LD'ing.

Just think about it, if Cory comes at you again you can LD him inside a cage or something and throw eggs at him, before flying off to your own private Utopia.

Now that doesn't sound so bad, does it? I hope things go well for you, and we'll try to help you out if you post back with answers to our questions... which obviously will be used to ultimately give you a hand!

      Take care, dude!
