      Melatonin confusion

      I just bought a bottle of Melatonin tablets; the bottle says that each tablet is 0.1mg of Melatonin and it says the dosage is 1 tablet (I assume anyway; it's in Dutch and I don't understand Dutch too well, but I'm 95% certain that's what it says).

      But when I search for Melatonin information on these forums, and I'm seeing recommendations of up to 3.0mg? That would mean taking 30 tablets, right? Could taking that much be dangerous if the recommended dose on the bottle is to only take 1?

      And on the other hand, if 3.0gm really is the recommended dose, wouldn't taking only 1 have practically no effect at all?

      Hey there - I looked on a few sites on google, and on one this is what I found:

      "Melatonin 3.0 mg
      RDA %
      *
      RDA - EC Recommended Daily Allowance
      * - EC RDA not yet established"

      This is basically meaning that there is no established RDA on melatonin - so I would definately advise not to take their advice, and just stick to a very low level!

      Also, try looking into the ways you can naturally boost melatonin in your system by having more light in the mornings - you can find it on the internet as it links a lot to teenagers feeling really tired in the morning, and ways they can combat it!

      As far as I know 2 x 3mg is the recomended dose. So 6mg...
      But, only at around midnight. (Right when it gets dark.)

      [When taken when sun light "outside", it can induce a false yet-lag state.. ]
