Insomnia and LDs
Although I haven't ever spoken to my doctor about it,I do believe I have insomnia,or at least a minor form.It takes me 2-3,sometimes,on bad nights,4 hours to fall asleep.I just learned about LD yesterday, and worry this will affect my ability to become lucid,Does anyone know if it will? And is there any way (besides meds) to help?:?

I have had insomnia my whole life and I've still been able to LD, because the best and most memorable time to lucid dream is in the last stage of dreaming before you wake up. I'm much better these days but it often took me over 2 hours to fall asleep.

I've got insomnia too, but I still manage to LD. :)

Usually if I have trouble falling asleep and therefore am awake later that I will sleep in longer and generally have vivid dreams that give me a shot at an ld. I used to be really OCD and constantly see what time it was and that would keep me up as well as just having general insomnia. I've gotten over both pretty well though. I listen to music or talkshows, etc in bed for an hour or two and when I want to fall asleep I find it very easy just to roll over and be out.

Chronic Insomniac Reporting and I've had LDs since I was a little kid. off course not yet aware of the full potential of LDing but just used it to escape nightmares back then.
In fact I had quite a restless period just yesterday. I was awake for well over 40 hours and then fell asleep while I had drunk alcohol that night and smoked 2 hash joints. I was awake from 1 o' clock midday thursday till 8 o' clock sundaymorning. My DreamRecall was amazing.
