      how to wake up.

i don't know about you, but i HATE waking up. I DREAD it absolutley and every muscle in my body seems to resist it. I get plenty of sleep, but in the morning when my phone rings good morning or when i wake up naturally I just cannot get out anymore. I used to get up at 5:30 everymorning for school for 3 years in highschool, so you would think i could get up at 8:00 or even 9:00 easily. but no.

is there any advise on how to get my feet out of my covers onto hard ground and get my body to move besides just using self control? like, once I'm out of bed and walking I'll be fine in 10 minutes, but its just the "getting out of bed" part thats really tough.

Live with a spouse, roommate, sibling? Have them come in and shake you, or if it's your spouse... well, nevermind

I'm a lazy bum sometimes when it comes to getting out of bed. How about this: next weekend when you have nothing to do (hopefully), stay in bed for a whole day straight. Force yourself to sleep, even if you're sick of it. Just stay in bed at all costs. The next day, you should be springing out of bed like.. a newly budding flower. On crack. I dunno. Well, you get the point.

I just turn the light on while my eyes are still closed. Two to three minutes later I open my eyes and I'm ready to get up.

i still have to get up for high school lol. what i do is i wake myself up an hour before i need to be somewhere (schooldays: the bus stop, weekends: a football game) and ten i know that if i dont get out of bed RIGHT THEN i will miss the bus or something. so i spring out of bed just like that. even if i dont want to i know i have to so it helps.

Heh. I've got the same morning problem, and I've tried what drmrgrl suggested multiple times. Most of the time I end up staying in bed and missing my first class

Set your alarm clock so that it's 10 minuets ahead of time... This way you know that when you wake up, you can click the snooze button... It's fun waking up knowing that you still have time to sleep...

How has no one said 'go to bed earlier'? Give you're self 10 hours of sleep. How long can you really stay in?
