I'd go with what Howie said, making yourself more comfortable will go a long way. But if you're in need of a quick solution for now, you could always get some Melatonin to help you sleep.

If you're still experiencing trouble sleeping, there are a variety of herbal supplements and teas available that act as sedatives and relaxants.

Passiflora Incarnata (passionflower) acts as a sedative when used in teas in 3-4 grams (quite a bit, but manageable) dry weight, and less in gel caps or extracts. It is commonly available in herbal stores or health shops. However, many of the Passiflora species, including incarnata, have alkaloids which act as MAOI's, which can cause life-threatening complications with certain medications (like SSRIs and antidepressants).

Catnip is also used as a sedative, oddly enough. I've used this myself, and it adds a nice balmy twist to my brews.

Meditation is also a useful tool for relaxation. Simply objectify your thoughts; observe them but don't judge them, and let them go when you do notice them. Slowly, the constant stream of inner thought begins to slow, and you will become more relaxed and grounded with the present.

You could also try focusing solely on your breathing, putting all your attention on the sensations and feelings of breathing, thus letting your thought stream slow. Notice how the air flows though your nostrils and out your mouth, and feel the air.

      Hope that helps!

what I have been doing every night for the past few nights is a mixture of things. First I just lie there eyes closed for a few moments thinking about how comfortable I am, then I imagine someone (i pick anyone) telling me to count backwards from 100 and by the time I get to zero I will have fallen asleep and will be in a lucid dream with them. When I'm counting down usually I count along with each in and out breath that I take. This hasn't helped me become lucid but i still haven't gotten to zero yet! not even past 50 I dont think..

take some melatonin. start off with like 2 mg. if that doesn't work try 3... if that doesn't work [i hate to condone the use of illegal drugs] but smoke a bowl a couple of hours before a bed.

      this is just a suggestion.

      Advice from a Fellowm Insomniac:
If at night you cannot sleep and you wake through till the next day: DON'T sleep during daytime. Whatever you do, even if you can hardily keep your eyes open, stay awake till at least the next early evening. This way your Sleep/Wake Rythm will return to normal faster. Also make sure that during the daytime you see enough daylight and that you dim the lights close to bedtime.

don't eat or drink within an hour of bed, if the herbal supplements don't work and you still need help, get a little bit of marijuana, smoke or eat some depending on preference. It relaxes you and when the canaboid receptors in your brain because saturated you become slightly euphoric and slugish.
