I'm 22, born 11-19-1985, and have never slept well in 22 years. I'm told that as a baby I slept about 6 hours a day. By the time I was 3 or 4 and people wanted me to sleep to their schedule I was in serious trouble. I can sleep only during the day, usually from 8:00 am EST until about noon, and this is with the help of hardcore sleep aides. I've done all the diet, activity, and mental preparations to form a good sleep cycle, but I've never had one. Off my medication I sleep about every four days, after an adrenal crash and severe kidney pain. I've had several sleep studies, they show that for 4 hours of sleep I spend about 13-20 minutes in Stage 3 (REM) sleep, the rest of the time in stage one, which is just below total awareness. I think this is why I LD so easily.

What I'm wondering is am I alone does anyone else have this much trouble sleeping. Answers or just the knowledge that I'm not alone in this would be very welcome.
