      Pain issues

For a good while lately, I've been having really bothersome pain in my right shoulder, my right arm and hand/wrist

I work at an office 8 hrs a day, 9-5..lots of clicking and typing all day, I know this isn't good for my carpal tunnel problems...I do use a wrist pad to elevate my right wrist to keep it level, but lately it seems like its not enough, the pain in my hand and shoulder gets so bad at times.

My shoulder, I don't have the slightest clue as to why it hurts, it feels like it burns, like the muscle is on fire and its VERY painful.

Any idea's as to what the hell I can do? I can't quit this job, its all I know...computers is all I know, any good pain medicine?

I've tried advil, tylenol, aleve, excedrin....

They don't do a fucking thing.

Only thing that minorly helps is Alcohol or Cannabis, now I can't goto work intoxicated....so that makes those 2 out of the question for work...

      how about hydrocodone?
I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.

This probably isn't what you want to hear (it wasn't what I wanted to hear when my doctor told me, lol) but strengthening exercises for your shoulders, arms and hands may help.

I am far too lazy and unmotivated to excerise!

i used to have the exact same problem as you b/c of extended hours at the computer.

i recommend working out your arm mainly stretch exercises + strengthening.

one good one is taking a weight and lifting it above your head with that shoulder, lateral raises (lifting arms straight out in whichever direction w/ weight in it)

forearm workouts will help too, taking a weight and spinning your wrists to left and right as far as you can is a good one.

as for stretching try stretching your arms behind your back and over your heard n such, and bending your wrist backwards (pulling back on your fingers).

Stretches help. Strengthening does too but stretches make a huge difference. Including taking short breaks (takes less than a minute) while your working to stretch. Point your fingers up and then pull them back gently, point them down and push them in gently (keep the fingers straight) every couple hours or when your wrist starts to feel stiff. There are more complicated ones that I do. I have a damaged right wrist from falling off a horse that results in not only carpal tunnel but other pain issues. For awhile it hurt 24/7 and even after 5 years it still hurt frequently. I started doing aikido which is a martial art that uses lots of joint locks. My wrist is twisted and bent to the point of pain, you tap when it hurts to make the person let go, and after a year I have almost no pain doing anything. When I started I thought it would be horrible for my wrist but it's turned out to be even better than physical therapy. The frequent extreme stretches have eliminated carpal tunnel and most of my other pain. I can play computer games for hours or type papers all day with no pain.

Here are some examples of other stretches specifically for carpal tunnel: http://www.eatonhand.com/hw/ctexercise.htm

Just do a search for carpal tunnel excercises or stretches. I'm sure the same type search would work when looking for shoulder stretches. For shoulders though my experience is that it's usually improper body posture. You need to improve how you sit and possibly how far or closer your keyboard and mouse are. If I sit too far from the mouse my right shoulder gets messed up.
