      Insomnia

Can someone give me a rundown on Insomnia? And what are the symptoms of it?

Im just a bit worried because lately i can not get to sleep at all and when i do think i have slept its only been 5 minutes, so basically ive been in bed for the past 2 weeks rolling around trying to sleep until morning where i get up and go about doing everything normally.

Symptoms are basically tossing and turning, and not getting to sleep. I get it occasionally.

What happens, for me anyway, is something of a snowball effect: I find it's been an hour after I went to bed and I still did not sleep...next thing I know I'm looking at the clock every five minutes and every five minutes I'm forcing myself more and more to sleep...and that's what keeps you awake.

My recommendation to you if you are in an episode is to get up and just do stuff. Even for maybe a half hour or so. It dispels all the pent-up energy from forcing yourself to sleep. Once you feel tired enough, go back to bed and you'll feel more relaxed.

      Go spam Waking Journal.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

This has been going on for 3 weeks, almost a month, not for a few days. Im concerned. And i tried getting up and doing stuff but it doesn't work, i even tried sleeping turned away from the clock and that didn't work either.

Okay. I've read tons of posts by people with similar problems... When are people going to learn to give more detail about their situation than "I can't sleep???" BLAAARGGHH. Okay. Sorry. Just had to get that off my chest. But I really think this needs to be put in a sticky at the top of this forum.

Anyway, back to you. What are your eating and exercise habits? And how much extra light do you get at night from maybe watching TV or playing video games or being on the computer? All of these things can greatly affect your sleep.
