      sleeping after school and snooze

Hi sometimes I sleep after school. It's very nice!
I just wonder if it's that smart. I often wake up 3 hours later, not hungry and not in a mood of doing homewwork. Anyone else feels the same?

Also is it smarter to snooze 30 minutes before waing up instead of plain sleeping and then one cold, fast alarm?

Will snooze just make me feel more tired during the day?

      Cheers

      Hello!

What you are doing is entering the realm of the bi-phasic sleeper. The bi-phasic sleeper, of which I am one, sleeps 3 hours, twice a day. Although, this can be extended to 4.5 at night, or 1.5 in afternoon, whatever...

Of course napping is smart. You probably just don't feel motivated because you're not used to having naps.

Snoozing is bad and a waste of time. It means you didn't time your wake up properly. So, get a proper time schedule and you won't feel like snoozing when your alarm wakes you.

I do this too, but I don't nap for nearly as long as you do. Usually an hour or two at the very most, but more often than not it's only like 20-30 minutes for me. Personally, I hate this, I always feel shitty afterwards, I never intend to fall asleep, it just sort of happens. Then I feel lazy and groggy, so I try my best to avoid it. Sometimes when I feel it coming on, I just push myself to start lifting weights and doing pushups until it goes away.

On the other hand, it kind of depends on how much sleep you get per night and how well you schedule it. If you're a bi-phasic sleeper like Luke, then it's not so bad. But if you sleep a full 6-8 hours per night, and then take like 3 hour naps, I think that might be too much sleep. I always feel groggy, lazy and crappy after too much sleep. They say it's just as bad, if not worse, than not enough sleep. I broke myself out of the habit for the longest time, and I felt better overall and not as tired throughout the day, but now I'm starting to get back into it because I don't get enough sleep at night....
