      Afraid of Sleeping?

Since i was little I had really bad nightmares and sometime mild night terrors. Because of this I have developed severe insomina. Now the main problem comes in when I have been up until 4 in the moring and I am falling asleep right in my chair I deiced to move to the bed and get some sleep. However as soon as I lay down it is like my mine freaks out and my mind is wide awake again, but my body is sore and too tried to move some times.

Because of this I have come to the conclusion that insomina is not my main problem. My problem is because of the nightmares I have now become afraid of sleeping. I thought lucid dreaming would solve this problem, but some nights it only makes it works.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can work at making this fear go away so I can sleep again with out laying in bed for another 3 hours trying to trick my self to sleeping?

You my friend may have just found a blessing in disguise. It would seem that you experience some of the perfect circumstances to perform a WILD.

However as soon as I lay down it is like my mine freaks out and my mind is wide awake again, but my body is sore and too tried to move some times.
Right here as you may or may not know the body falls asleep first, and then the mind proceeds after. Your mind will send signals to your body to see if it has fallen asleep, if everything checks out then the mind starts to fall asleep as well.

Now since you are saying that your body is sore and too tired to move this is perfect. It means that your body is already in a exhausted state meaning that it should fall asleep very quickly if you were not to move around.

I hope you see what I am saying about you being in a perfect state for a WILD. Also perhaps you could try some natural sleeping aids to help you with your sleep, warm milk, warm tea (caffeine free), mugwort, and for a bigger list you can check the supplements page.
