My SP temporarily paralysed me (i think it was the SP)

OK, so i was about 11, i woke up and fell out of bed, i had hardly any use of my legs, i could move them a little bit, but they could not support me. i dragged myself along the hallway, and eventualy pulled myself with my hands, grabbing onto what ever i could.

after about half an hour i could just about walk, but barely. i could feel my legs, but they were very very weak.

this effects slowly wore of over 3 days until i was back to normal.
iv figured this could be one of the following.

-a body clock sleep paralysis issue.
-i may have twisted my spine in my sleep (somhow)

i never went to see the doctor as it wore of, i wish i had as i m really curious what caused it.
has anyone ever heard of anything like this before

I highly doubt it was sleep paralysis if you could use your arms fine. The process behind sleep paralysis occurs in the pons, disabling all movement. It seems more of a lumbar problem, if you think it's the spine. I would see a doctor.

This doesn't seem to be about lucid dreaming. I bet you'll get better responses in the Sleep & Health forum.

Yea, doesn't sound like SP at all. Freaky, though. Calling a doctor sounds like a good idea to me.

Calling a doctor is good and all just don't go through any operations you don't need.

Once you let a doctor touch your spine, its ruined for the rest of your life

Depends on the sort of doctor you go to. If you go to some half-assed kook chiropractor and let them crack it and manipulate it all to hell, well then yea. I was thinking more along the lines of an xray and MRI and someone legit to determine if there's an actual problem. I don't know shit about the spine, but I know not to go to those guys, especially when your injury/symptoms could be serious.

One of my goals in life is to not be a paraplegic. Going to a doctor doesn't mean they're going to whip you open on the operating table when you walk in the door.

If this had happened to me I would've gone to the doctor very quickly. I've had it happen where I go to get up out of bed and my legs are asleep and numb and I fall, but it leaves in minutes, not days
