      Sleep Apnea...

hey guys, i have been having major issues sleeping and trying to stay awake during the day or trying to sleep and stay asleep at night. i have recently found out that i could have sleep apnea. i thought i just had it good cause i had many vivid, lucid dreams, but just found out that all it could be is just i skipping over straight to REM sleep. lol! could this affect my LDing a lot if so, could you guys let me in on any tips? I KNOW someone here has SA... come on, almost everywhere I've went there was someone there telling me their story. lol... weird, huh?

How long has this been going on?

My dad has sleep apnea and didn't actually go in to have it checked out until just a couple of years ago. He hadn't had a good night's sleep since he was in his 20s, so that's a good 30 or so of suffering through it. He's somewhat upset with himself that he hadn't gone in earlier, but is so much happier for it now.

If you're not sure if you have SA, is there someone living with you who could tell you if you snore a lot and/or stop breathing when you sleep? That would be an easy way to find out. If you've had it for a while, though, get it checked out. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to get a good night's sleep, so it wouldn't hurt to at least see a physician and see what he has to say.

Wow... sounds like me. I first thought it was epilepsy, but i had to get opinion after opinion from different neurologyst over years. But it would makes sense if I did have SA, cause I suffer from most of the symptoms. Just did a sleep study a few days ago.
