      hello all.

this may seem really stupis so please dont state the obvious

i never feel tired in the evenings, not one bit. so my decision to go to bed is purley because i know i should, but i always end up going to be at about 1 ish, time flies by and i get really anoyed with myself. im very tired the next day + lucid dreaming is a no no.

i always say to myslef, i WILL go to bed early tonight. but before i know it, its 1 oclock again, awwww.

It's discipline...you got used to delaying and going to bed at 1. You can try to do it incrementally or you may not fall asleep if it's way before your sleep habit. Like maybe 15min earlier for a few weeks then add another 15min as it goes on.

All through high school I had this problem. I would often sleep for 3-5 hours a night, 1-2 hours during school, and then another 1-2 hours after school. It was a bad habit.

Then I started working third shift. Every morning I'd come home already drained and tired, and I'd fall asleep right away at 7am and get my full eight hours of sleep. Heh, but that probably doesn't help you at all.

Maybe just try going up to your bed earlier, and do whatever you normally end up doing late at night earlier as well. A lot of times when I stayed up, it would just be for stupid things like laying in bed watching TV or playing games. So sometimes I would go up earlier and do those same things. For me, it helped a bit.

I often have this problem, even as an adult. My reason is I just need a certain amount of personal time to recover from all the social things I did earlier that day. As much as I love people, I really need this time for myself to recharge my batteries.

Something that works for me is to do your evening activities in bed, if you can. Watching TV, reading a book, playing a video game... Just get into your bed and do these things. And get into your bed early, like 10, and just stay there. Hopefully you'll feel relaxed and sleepy enough by at least 12 to fall asleep.

I've gotten down to 11pm these days, which is quite a feat for me.

I use to think like you a lot because i use to go to bed really late then get up early.

now however, i do fine on around 4 hours of sleep so i would say u don't necessarily need to go to bed earlier...

just a suggestion but you might want to experiment with polyphasic sleeping etc.

I take 3 naps a day and am overall more energetic plus it has increased my dream recall / lucid dreams a lot. every few weekends or so i will just crash for 14 hours+ but it is pretty rare...

      good luck!
