      Cramp

The last few days I have been having cramp in both my lower legs and feet when I go to bed. Normally when I have cramp (not very often btw) there is also just one muscle involved and the pain is over quickly after I stretch it. It also usually happens in the morning causing me to I wake up, instead of in the evening.

This was different however, because as soon I started to relax after stretching the cramp came back. Taking a walk didn't help either, because when I went back to bed afterwards it started all over again. It took maybe an hour before it was completely over after that.

Has anyone experienced something like this before, or know what may be causing it?

Sorry, never experienced a similar thing Is there any reason why you would have a cramp in the first place?

Drink a cup of water before the time these normally start?

I'm not sure what would cause it though... Which would help with a cure.

I always drink plenty of water before going to bed, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I don't remember doing anything unusual that might have strained those muscles, so I don't have a clue what might be the reason.

This happens to me ALL the time. I can even cause it to happen at will now, though I don't know why I would want to.

I still haven't found a way to prevent them, but I would suggest not eating a lot of salt.

Your potassium could be low. Try eating a banana before bed or take a vitamin that's high in potassium.
I used to get charlie horses in my sleep all the time when I was pregnant. What caused them was stretching in my sleep.
My 16 year old son is prone to get leg cramps and when I make him eat bananas the cramps stop for a long time.

If the problem is either too much or too little salt, it was probably too much in my case. I remember eating some very salty meat the first day.
In any case, it seems to be over now.

      Thanks for the advice.
