      Startling Feelings

My friend asked me to post this for him because he's not a member of Dream Views. Here it is:

"This happened a few weeks ago and when I read around this forum I thought I could share it with you guys....
I was sleeping dream-less when all of a sudden I feel a thumping that happened like every 3 seconds... at first i thought it was a faraway sound.... The first time it didn't really feel like anything only a little bit of pain all over. I realized that these pains or awkward feelings felt exactly how it feels when someone jumps in front of you and startles you.... with a scary mask.

But the next thumpings were like my whole body was like a really numb leg. Every thumping I felt myself gasping for breath and by the 4th thump I realized i wasn't breathing. Also... every thump made my numbings worse. I ended up forcing my awakening by shaking myself and eventually getting rid of the (i might add "loud") thumping. I found myself awake on my right side gasping for breath. I was terrified and didn't budge for a while... then I think I went to go drink some water and lay myself to sleep once more. This has happened once, a few months ago. During school, in the middle of class, I sometimes realize that I haven't been breathing and I gasp for air.

      -Random facts:
my maternal great grandpa died of a heart attack
diabetes runs in my father's family"

firstly, i think its you, not your friend. Why would you make that up?

have you been stressed out lately? are you possibly a hypochondriac? i read your other post. my best guess would be that you are.

Alright? It's not me. If I had a question of my own I would say that.

hmm, you are always breathing but the only difference is that its involuntary which is the reason you think you aren't. This is also the reason that when you think about your breathing, it becomes voluntary and you end up controlling it. Anyways, do you have any fungus in your house, even a small batch of them? I think they cause this kinda thing. As for the diabetes thing, unless I'm mistaken, diabetes is only related to glucose which isn't linked to breathing in anyway

It's possible that's just SP or pre-SP? If I stay awake long enough and I'm tired, I've experienced vibrations, numbness, heaviness, etc.... so some similar symptoms
