If it was "against nature", I (and many other 'naturals' around here and around the world) wouldn't have been able to start lucid dreaming naturally. It's pretty much as simple as that. |

A lot of the people I've discussed Lucid Dreaming with have told me that it goes "against nature" and is freakish. They think that it can do horrible things to your body. |

Oh, I am against nature since I was 5 years old. D: |

if you can read this then you are about to be punched
I'd like to point out that there was an episode of blue's clues about lucid dreaming... Nickoledeon thinks its fine. |
It's better than TV, witch slowly melts your brain into a sloppy, delicious goop (Nobody seen the Hulu commercials?). Next time they say that, ask them if they've ever experienced Deja Vu. If they've ever seen a ghost. As long as they're not the very stubborn kind of people I've had to argue with, some of them will undoubtedly answer yes to questions such as these. These are no more freakish or unnatural than lucid dreaming. Now, I'm reminded of hallucinations. They're perfectly natural things. However, taking drugs to induce them can harm their body. Maybe people have drawn a similar sylogism to lucid dreaming. What do you think? |
By the way, I'd like to see this Blue's Clues episode on lucid dreaming. Would be kind of interesting. |
I defer to eastern cultures/religions, many of which have been around for thousands of years and which embrace lucid dreaming. therefore I would say lucid dreaming is a very traditional practice...nuthin wrong with it |

it could be the cause for all unnatural things in this world though, i hear many inventors received inspiration from lucid dreams. but you know, i can't support it so whatever... just a thought. |

First of all, LOL at CaLeb. Second, does it matter what people think about it? |
My dad says that it's not good to be conscious during the night because "the brain can't do it's usual stuff." I told him that that's not true, but he insisted and I got really angry so I told him to go drown himself. These parents..... |
Now, some people (such as my dad himself) are natural lucid dreamers, but they also say they don't feel as rested when they lucid dream. My dad doesn't get lucids much anymore, but as a kid, he always had full control of his dreams. He says he doesn't feel as rested when it happens. Now, there are some people who like to have 8 hours of unconsciousness because all they think about are their problems. |
wow I didn't know a persons personal life could affect their sleeping like that. are you saying if people had no problems to think about they wouldn't need as much sleep? in that case, lucid dreaming should leave you more refreshed than a normal/stress related dream would? |
No. What I'm saying is sometimes stressed people like to sleep because it's an 8 hour break from their stressed lives. And, a side effect of it is that stress often makes you have little to no recall, so they think they got a dreamless night. It never really helps, but they like to have it (I do have first hand experience. Rather, second hand, as certain members of my family are like that) |
