Sleeping and studying at the same time.

I was wondering if anyone had tried this or heard of anyone trying it.

You get a recording of what you need to study, I've heard of people recording themselves going over their study notes.

You set this to start playing an hour or so after you are sleeping, not too loud obviously or else you will wake up haha.

So, you will hear your study notes, as you a sleeping and somehow this absorbs into your mind, and yo will have the information ready for when you need it!

I was thinking about doing this for my language study.

      Good idea? Waste of time?

      Discuss.

I think some people do that without even being lucid.
I have absolutely no idea if it works but I can tell you that you can study in your dreams (if you had read it before already of course). If you read a page and think you cant remember any of it in a dream you do remember those things better than in real life.

A good example was a dance choreographie I just learned. We had only started it and I had no clue about the order of the different moves. But then I had a dream in which I danced that choreographie over and over again with no mistakes (I wasnt even lucid!) and when I woke up the next day I was able to go through the whole choreographie in the right order without any problems!

Imagine now you´re lucid and can actively "reread" and learn you study notes!

Thank you for the reply, I wasn't intending to be lucid when I try this, but want to know if one can passively take in info when they are sleeping from an external source.

That's pretty cool about your dance routine , I've had similar things where something might be on my mind all day, or I have an issue just be taught something and didn't quite get it, then dreams about it and the problem is resolved or I understand it more clearly.

From my own experience, my brain seems to organize data that I have absorbed during the day when I'm asleep. That's why when I have exams coming up, I cram most of my study in just before I go to bed and wake up with a fresh understanding of the concepts I covered the previous night.

As for absorbing information during your sleep, I would have to pass. You might find it helpful to read or listen to your notes as you're winding down and getting ready to go to sleep though.
So I had my first OBE the other day... I was completely beside myself!
