      Sleep Schedule Issues! Help!

So over the last month I've gotten into a terrible sleeping schedule, which involves me not going to bed until 3-4AM. When I get to bed, it either takes 1-4 hours for me to actually fall asleep, despite using several relaxation and WILD techniques, and drinking chamomile or sleep time tea [lol]. During the last week, however, three out of the seven days I could not actually fall asleep, but instead laid in a meditative state with little to no mind activity and no body activity at all for about 4-5 hours.

I have not had a regular sleep cycle for a while, and I think that this may have something to do with the fact that when I do finally get some sleep, I usually sleep for 8-14 hours - straight through any alarm or determination.

Also, I was prescribed Ambien 10mg and after taking it about three times the medication stopped being effective, and usually turned into more of a psycho-active "dreamlike" conscious experience. [and yes, I did complete many types of RC's successfully.

      - is this healthy? Probably not. Anybody have some suggestions or hints?
I would appreciate it SO much. Thank you in advance! : )

      hey ya there menelvagor,

I have posted some ideas and information you may find useful on a 2 other posts below yours on this board "what is wrong with me" and "insomnia".
I used to have sleep problems similar to yours and found the biggest help was calcium and magnesium, since taking this combo myself i have hjad no problems what so ever, i now fall asleep within mins, used to take me to the late hours as well, and now i always feel like i have had a very good sleep when i wake, even at times if it was only for a few hours.
Google these two substances along with sleep and you'll find some interesting articles to read which should help.

      Take it easy mate.

      Cheers

      thanks omni : )

funny - actually looked at your post last night after making this new topic and researched those two substances on google after failing to fall asleep.

I'll pick some up and try it out - the research seems to prove it to be quite possibly something that could help.

Do you take the calcium and mag at any particular time, or does it not matter?

cool, im sure it will help.
I usually take it an hour befor i go to bed.
In the first week of taking mag and calcium i took both twice a day, in the morning and night,as i was extreamly low on both.
researchthe doseage amount aswell.i was taking between 300-600mg of the Mag and up to 1200mg of calcium a day.depends on the individual though.
good luck, id be very intyerested as to how you go.keep us posted.
