Does Acupuncture Therapy really work?

My right shoulderhas been sore from spiking in volleyball and I want it in good shape for baseball this spring. I found a lot of places in Milwaukee and I was wondering if any of you guys have anything to say about it that would help me out.

I had accupuncture done when I was having pain in my elbow and my back.

They did heat and vibration with the needles and they also applied heated cups.

I had about 6 treatments and it helped tremendously! I'd recommend it!

i too had acupuncture treatment for weight loss.its given me extraordinary result with in four weeks. i am really recommending this therapy.its for not only obesity.it works on all most all diseases.

I had a course of acupuncture years ago...all I remember is that I had very vivid dreams after the treatments

I think any effect is due to the power of suggestion and the process of being repeatedly poked with needles.

For one, your brain releases endorphins because it senses it is taking damage. Also, the concept is ancient and elaborately explained, this adds weight for many people and reinforces placebo effect.

The reason I feel this way, aside from there being no scientific explanation, is because people I know and trust have had treatments and no one has ever said it was worth it.
