      "Holding your mouth right"

What do the mouth muscles do during sleep? Oftentimes if I try to relax with my mouth open I don't go to sleep. I wake up with my teeth clenched at times, but it doesn't seem to be serious.

Is it better to go ahead and slightly clinch your teeth if your goal is to fall asleep or get into SP? Sort of like how you can't sneeze without closing your eyes? I just would have thought relaxing the mouth/jaw muscles like all the others would be what the body wants, but now I wonder if the body wants you to close your mouth and clinch your teeth slightly.

Anyone ever notice or know the science behind this?

My jaw stays open a little bit, as I breathe through my mouth.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
