      Dependant on Sleep mp3

      Hey everyone,
First off I just want to say; this is my first post on this board, and I'm excited to join the community.

I've been lucid dreaming on occasion for the past 6 months. Still can't seem to get any consistency down though.

Anyway, a couple months ago I started using this mp3 from the 'Brain Sync' collection which I downloaded. It is called 'Deep Sleep' and its supposed to send delta brainwaves to your brain to deepen the sleep you get. I've found this to be a very useful tool in falling asleep. Before starting this, I would lay on my back for 30-45 min before finally rolling over and falling asleep. After growing accustomed to this mp3, I can now fall asleep in 20 minutes or less. Now, a couple nights ago I couldn't find my mp3 player, so I just went to sleep without the track. It took me over an hour of tossing and turning to relax enough to fall asleep.
Bottom line is, this mp3 works great... but I don't know if I should continue to use it because I don't want to develop any type of insomnia.

Well, how long are you listening to it? I've just started listening to a recall improvement mp3, and I've cut it back to an hour before I go to bed because I don't want to become dependent on it.

Actually, it may not be the Mp3 at all, it could be that you require white noise to fall asleep. I sleep with music or the radio in the background. I only go without if it's raining heavily outside. I can't stand silence.

Try substituting the Mp3 if you lose it again.

Portalboat I'm not quite sure how long I listen to the mp3. I fall asleep as its playing, and normally I wake up in about 3 hours with the headphones tangled around me in my bed.

Darkborne I think your right about the white noise, I've always found it very easy to fall asleep on days where it is raining. However, I also think my mind is becoming conditioned to start to get ready for sleep as soon as it hears those first few seconds of 'Deep Sleep'. I can actually feel a shifting state of mind immediately once I start the track.
