Unhappy Lost my hopes for getting a LD

I have lost hope for getting a lucid dream. I have tried WILD, MILD, WBTB (without and with MILD/WILD). I have tried sleeping in one position without moving or swallowing at all to make my body fall asleep. Doesn't work. I can lay in the same position for around 1.5 hours + or so without anything happening except for my hands going a bit numb. (serously, I have layed in the same position for around 2 hours at max once, NOTHING happened..)

I have WBTB'd and read about lucid stuff for 20-30 minutes several times, no luck there. I have had a DJ online and still have one offline, still, I seem to be naive about my dreamsigns.

I have had these periods in my life where I constantly did RC's all day long. Didn't work. I have tried using iDoser and other mp3's. Even tried listening to a song about lucidity for days. Nothing works.

Might it be because I have insomnia, or not. (Really, it is extreme. Takes around 2 + hours to fall asleep a normal day. Even after WBTB it takes 1.5 hours + to fall asleep.) I still can't become lucid even though I try so hard. What should I do?

(also, I know trying to hard won't get you anywhere. But I have practiced lucidity for around 1 year or so. I have taken several breaks but nothing works..)

Just remember that this should be fun! Don't worry so much about how long it's taking to learn lucid dreaming; you still have your regular dreams, right? I find that the more attention and importance I place on my dreams indirectly affects how interesting they are and how well I can remember them. It's during these periods of epic dreaming that I tend to get more lucids, too.

Try picking your favourite technique(s), then stick with them for a while. In the meantime, see if you can get to the point where you look forward to your dreams each night. You might get a lot more excited about the possibility of a lucid dream, but if it doesn't happen that night you'll still have some interesting dreams to be happy about. You've already got experience with how to do the techniques, so if you keep motivated towards you're goal of a lucid dream while enjoying yourself in the meantime, you'll get there sooner or later.

Don't give up, it's worth it!

I think the insomnia is your main priority. You should devote your efforts to getting it treated. Maybe sleeping pills can help.

Once you can sleep right, you may have better success with LD. If it takes you 1.5+ hours to fall asleep, forget about WILD and WBTB.

When you wake up after 6 hours or less of sleeping you don't have drowsiness? Also you shouldn't get out of the bed during a wbtb as you have trouble falling asleep.

Being fully aware of the air whipping by you, controlling every movement of every single atom in your body with a single thought. It's real freedom, and there's not a word good enough to describe it, so I'll just call it dreamy for now."

      Yay, I have been quoted!

Anyway, once you give up hope for having an LD, you most likely will not have one. The key is to be not too eager, and to expect results, but not immediate ones. Stay patient, and you WILL have one soon. It is not hard, I know you can do it.

p.s., Loaf, I like your new avatar and sig.
