Is it just me, or when I think to myself...

...In other words, when I'm talking to myself, not outloud, my throat, lips and tongue tend to move as if I were actually speaking outloud? Is it just me or does everyone do this?

It's been bothering me; I'd like to know whether everyone else does this. =P

Also, I'm not really sure what forum this goes into, sorry mods! Feel free to move it.

Yeah, okay, I do this, too. Like, when you're sort of talking out loud, but not quite. I notice once in a while that I'll start mouthing stuff to myself out of the blue. I've always liked thinking aloud to myself, too...helps me think more clearly.

When reading a lot of people do what is known as subvocalisation. It's pretty much edit: saying the words in your head. When people subvocalise some tend to move their lips and the like. I guess it's because most of us are so use to talking (usually done out loud =). It's considered normal (and it's common), even though it can be eliminated.

So I guess some people may carry on the habit? That's the theory I'm going with.

Personally, I tend to just talk out loud (voice my thoughts as I call it). It's not worth the bother just moving my lips, especially since I look strange either way.

Sure, I do it and it works, but not OFTEN.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Once someone thought I was crazy because I muttered "it's due in two days" under my breath, but I was really just thinking out loud about an English project.
