      Question Having a bedmate...

So for the past five years I've been without a relationship, and since I *was* abstinent, I never had anyone besides me, myself, and I in my bed.

Now that I have a girlfriend... that still sounds weird; ANYWAYS, she is almost always over here sleeping in my bed, I've noticed I've been dreaming less. I know for a fact I haven't been taking the time to concentrate on dream recall before bed. But it seems like I'd still remember dreaming, as that was the norm when I slept without preparation before she entered my life.
Could it just be having another person in the bed is making it more difficult to attain a deep level of sleep?

Possibly, but it's not necessarily a black-and-white situation. There's so many factors that go into dream recall that it's hard to tell exactly what's causing good/bad recall. I'd try not to get into the mindset that your recall will inevitably be worse because you have a bedmate, but it could definitely be having an impact.

      That is very true.
Last night after posting this I decided to make sure I went to bed thinking about dream recall; and I managed to remember one of my dreams.

So I think it was a combination of a real impact on my sleep levels, added to my mindset. Hopefully I will overcome it.

I usually have two recalls a night. Of course, i'm only four days in so that's not much. But I have recalled two dreams a night, one last night, which was exceptionally long.

Sorry for the personal question, but... do you have sex before sleep? If so, you may simply be too exhausted to pay as much attention as you normally do.
You could also just need a period of adjustment.

Do not answer questions you don't know the answer to.

No I do not, at least not frequently.

Although she did take my virginity; I'm not the sex-crazy type. My mind works all the time, even during sex {This can make it difficult some times xD}. I've also never been very lude-minded.

I find it a little insulting that you've made this assumption that all people are like you, some of us are actually reserved in our sex cycles... Plus I'm more of a morning sex person.
Now that I've gotten used to sleeping next to her I am beginning to remember my dreams more and more; so the problem is solving itself.
