      What is wrong with me?

I have so many problems. I have troubles falling a sleep. I have no energy ever, No matter what. I have no concentration, so i cant meditate. I can not remember dreams. So all this equals up to no lucid dreams :/
I think I have ADD or somthing too cause i have a really bad attention span and cant keep my mind straight, like when i read i cant remember a thing i read cause i think of stuff while im reading. When i try to meditate i just realize about 10 minutes after starting im just thinking about random shit, and not even trying to meditate. I have tried meditating many many times, and at school we do yoga some times. And we meditated and there was all these people who have never even tried to meditate before, who were all talking about how great feeling it was. But i never have even gotten that far into meditation still. I have troubles with sleep, I get very tired and can take naps during the day but when it comes to night. I am tired but when i try to fall asleep I cant sleep cause my mind wont shut up. I take about 5 mg of melatonin each night, which makes it usuallly take an hour or a bit more to sleep. But this is winter, i dont know why but in winter i get good sleep. I dread summer. Cause i know each night it will take me several hours to fall asleep every night. I some times get only like 1 or 2 hours of sleep just because i stay up so late, and the next day i cant fall asleep at night still. And now during winter when i am getting 6-7 hours of sleep each night, I have no energy for the next day, i feel nearly the same if i get 1 hour than if i get 8 hours. Its just easier to fall asleep at school if i get 1 hour of sleep. But i have no energy, EVER i cant remember what it feels like to have the energy to want to go out and do somthing active. I used to skateboard, but i slowly started having no energy every single day. And its Immpossible to skate when you have no energy. And i eat pretty normally and healthy, So why dont i have energy if im getting sleep and eating? As im writing this its 7 am and i went to sleep at 11 pm last night, thats alot of sleep, right? I know that today im just going to feel like shit and am going to feel to tired to do anything at school.

You might be getting disrupted sleep. And this is having an affect on your concentration.

Try those foam earplugs you can buy at drugstores for a few cents.

I am a light sleeper, and I've been using them for years. Without them, I wake up feeling tired, and it lasts throughtout the day, and I need naps. With the plugs, I feel awake all day, and don't need naps, and my concentration is at a high level.

      Good luck.

Try taking less melatonin. Drop down to 3 mg, maybe even 1.5. to much melatonin can make sleep impossible for some reason. Also, some people report feeling like they never slept at all after sleeping with high doses of melatonin.

Have you ever considered that the cause for your low energy could be purely physiological? This means that you must talk about your condition with your medical doctor. Fatigue can even be a symptom of depression. So you could explore that angle too. From my own experience, I know that a racy mind can lead to loss of energy, which is why I curb my thoughts now. You can easily concentrate on things you love doing. Meditation might not be your cup of tea (at least for now). So why not make a list of things you really love doing? And when you do them, focus on them. This way you can improve your concentration. I hope this helps.

A bad diet can cause sleep problems.

      depression

Sounds like classic depression symptoms to me.

      A very typical progression is:
      chronic stress>sleep disturbance>depression.

You need to break out of that cycle (which may require meds temporarily) and then change your lifestyle to reduce and manage stress better. Once you break out of the depression, then you can meditate and take other steps to eliminate chroni stress.

      You should get some help.

Try this book, "Why your life sucks and what to do about it by Allen Cohen. It is awesome. I read the book and I loved it.

As for your focus you seem to have excellent focus when you are focusing on negative things. You might even call that a trance!

The question is what is the pay off for your suffering?

Another book which might help is called Traveling Free by Mandy Evans.
Thought plus emotion creates attitude. Attitude plus action creates experience and experience determines reality

Avoid medication unless prescribed, it can have unexpected results.

I use white noise for sleep, I always have a fan running sometimes I put on a computer generated rain machine
I do take lots of Melatonin but that is for dream vividness (1.5 lucid dreams per weekend lately tho)
Melatonin also causes me to have visions when I close my eyes but am awake (this helps me fall asleep because it
is distracting, you can't think when your seeing random stuff or a few seconds at a time, sometimes they are
like vivid dreams but you know your awake and still feel your real body)

currently I keep my dose in like 30-50mg range half fast acting half slow release but again it causes sleep disruption if anything

females can have bad menstrual side effects at high dose tho so I wouldn't recommend to them
