      Stress and LDs

Does the amount of stress one has decrease their chances of lucidity? And say if I got less amount of sleep than usual, that decreases the chance of lucidity too doesnt it? Then why is it when I nap my chances of LDing are higher?
I guess the main question is, if I'm really stressed out, how do I manage to LD?

Sorry if this post is in the wrong spot. I tried looking elsewhere, but everyones problems were a bit different than mine.

From what I've read on these boards, stress decreases your dream recall ability, and good dream recall is important for LD. Since REM(dreaming) periods appear and lengthen later in the sleep cycle, if you got less sleep, there are less(and shorter) REM periods, so your chances of LD would be less.

Napping is how alot of people LD. It's like a WBTB(wake back to bed), where you wake up from sleep, and have a period of full wakefullness, then go back to sleep. This has as an effect on your REM cycle which is conducive for LD.

I agree with Flashdance on this topic. Stress, as I feel it, does interrupt with sleep. Also, I have found that if you are crying before you go to sleep, I have less dream recall and do not experience any LD's.
