Help! Nightmares! I never had them as a boy.

I'm sixteen and I recently have been having terrible terrible terrible nightmares.. They are so freaky... I used to have issues with sleeping and only got about two per night. Now i'm getting around 5.. but the dreams... so vivid... so freaking scary... I had one where I had claws and I ran up to a stranger and impaled him with them and started eating his flesh. I had one where I was fighting an invasion of people and protecting my girlfriend... I killed 11 people... got pinned down by the last guy alive and watched him raise his knife at me and got sprayed with his blood as something stabbed him in the back. I have this nightmare about this fucking cult lady who keeps harassing me. . . She appears in almost ever dream but she tried to capture me that it... not hurt me.. I dont know what she wants but shes.... weird... Scary weird.. I need help with this stuff i read up on nightmares and you hardly ever see action... you feel the anticipation of like opening a door and wake up before you open it.. I dont have those.. I have bloody dreams that could make a person derranged.... Please... I look for some assisstance from you Dreamviews. Help!

Oh my. I am sorry to hear that. I have had some pretty horrible dreams in the past too, I had a dream I murdered my ex gf in such a horrible way =/ just try to keep a positive mind while falling asleep get relaxed, clear your mind of all filth, negative thoughts can have a bad effect on dreams. Also lucid dreaming can help with nightmares! If you feel fear often in those nightmares, use that as a dreamsign. If something startles you in waking life do an RC! Hope they subside.
      It's a mad world.

NO. The scary part is I don't feel fear until I wake up... and flash back on all the horrible things I did. I... I im in a primal state in my dreams and just rip flesh in drink blood... Its just fucking nasty.. I hate it. I don't get scared until i wake up and think im going to become crazy from these things. The things I do.. So nasty. . The only time I get freaked out is when I realize what Ive done and woke myself up. I mean if you count a lucid as in realizing your dreaming then I have them everytime I have a nightmare... I just become lucid fast enough to see everything ive done. I think thats what make my nightmares happen because I become lucid... The scary parts are when I die by getting my arms cut off then having and being tortured... There's alot of brutal things going through my mind in these dreams... what could they be about. Its just.... scary. I lucid every nightmare I remember. Just how do I stop these terrible things from happening before I become lucid or am i just going crazy or what?!?! Look at my thread in the help section if they have approved it by now.

The weird thing is that when I have a terrible day and everything is going wrong I have perfect dreams

I've had chronic nightmares of the type you describe in the past, enough to disrupt my sleep and cause me to be afraid to go to sleep. Cognitive therapy actually helped a lot, because it helped with some of the underlying issues that were causing the nightmares. Keeping a dream journal also helped because I was able to identify the patterns in my nightmares. I still have nightmares, but they no longer have the horrifying edge that they once had and they don't have as much power over me. My dreams have mostly shifted from horrifying to extremely weird.

I don't know what to say. I had alot of frightening dreams and here is just one: "I'm in the school where I used to learn with my friends. Everything is normal at first but things are gonna take a wild turn for the worst. The school is being invaded by some kind of humanoids. They remind me of turtles and are a little shorter than i am. We manage to find guns , we barricade ourselves in the classroom . One of them comes at the door . all my friends start shooting like crazy but the only thing is that my weapon fires once every 3 or 4 seconds. After he passes through them all he is heading for me. i keep shooting but it makes no difference. we are told to sit down and we obey for the time being. Out of nowhere i get a revelation: an exploding crossbow arrow can kill them. i have one arrow but the crossbow is at the half man half turtle alien. i grab the arrow with my fist and start running towards him. when i'm about to give the finishing blow i mistakenly stab one of my colleagues. i feel horrible and he just laughs over his corpse. After a while i manage to get out of the classroom but get caught by another one of those things. he put's me against the wall with one hand and watches me suffocate. i literally feel not being able to breath. The principal comes and kills him with a uzzi. Thing's just keep getting weirder.... ". Another one was when i just kept hitting a little puppy to death. when i awoken in the middle of the night i felt horrified. In another of those dreams i had a huge evil grin and was carrying my sister from the throat being afraid of her . I realised it was a dream and chose to woke up.

the thing is that you needn't be bothered by dreams. they are just this: dreams. They can mean things but as Freud said "sometimes a hat is only a hat". As free-morph said just keep relaxed. don't let them become stronger than they need be. after all they are just dreams. Hope you can get over it
