"Glitches" on my ipod touch?

I have a 1st generation ipod touch, which I got in early 2008.

Over the past few months, I've been noticing a few things that weren't happening before...

1) Sometimes when a song is playing, and I try rewinding it (forwards or backwards), the rewind bar thing will go to where I want it to go, but the song itself won't start playing at that designated spot; it'll keep playing at whatever spot the rewind thing was on before.

2) When I'm turning my ipod on from standby (screen is black but music is still playing), and I pause the song immediately afterwards, I usually see a flash of the back of the album (where all the songs are listed).

Cause?

Have you updated the OS lately? Plug it into iTunes and see if there are any updates.

I have the most recent firmware for ipod touch, if that's what you mean.

Try formatting it and installing from the bottom. Definitely a software problem.

You have the latest firmware on a iTouch 1st gen?
As in, you're using iOS 4 on it?

iOS 4 is for 2G and up I believe. I'm fairly sure a 1G would struggle to run iOS 4.

That seems plausible. I'm considering getting a new one anyways, so... :P

If you are running iOS 4 - 4.1 - 4.2, that's probably the cause. The 1st gen won't run any of those new iOS well. You should really think about upgrading to a 3g or 4g.
