Why not go for building a game engine or a server like STEAM?
That has more to do with software jeff.
Electronics engineering has more to do with hardware stuff like microprocessors, circuit-boards, etc.
Do you end up specializing in anything (power, control systems, communications, etc) or is it general electronics education for an associates degree?
Funny coz I just started a thread about great ideas.
Just think of something you can create, create it, patent it, sell it to a company.
I saw this thing about this guy in Australia who made a device which detects when it is necessary for freezers to defrost (he got other people to build it for him though), he's selling it to supermarkets atm.
It saves them heaps of money coz that's one of the most power consuming things that freezers do.
Think of something, it's not that hard, the hardest thing is getting the money to get something built, but you can build it yourself, so get to it!
