I'm assusming T9 is some sort of predictive text, no?
depends what you're used to
predictive text is faster by default (less key tapping)
but takes some time to get used to
T9 is the dictionary thing, right?
Yeah. I use it, and I type way faster than I did before. It takes some time to get used to, definitely, but it's way nicer. :content:
I'd use T9 over that tapping forever crap anyway, but bah, I've never been one for numpad keyboards. I have a sidekick (never really use it anymore though) and it has a full keyboard, which is the only thing I could ever use. I can type ~50 WPM on it which is about what I type on a normal keyboard, anyway.
:P
Oh no. They have a word for that thing that gets all in your face when you're trying to type a SMS or whatever? I don't like numeric keypads at all, they're slow, but the "hey, did you mean antelope?" thing makes me even slower. Maybe that's just me.
no, it's not that thing

Like normally to get "Fertilizer" You would type
333 - 33 - 777 - 8 - 444 - 555 - 444 - 9999 - 33 - 777
That's Multitap. With T9 you just press
3 3 7 8 4 5 4 9 3 7
and it shows you a list of all the words that you could have possibly typed with that combination of numbers (sorted by most used) like
Fertilizer
Fertilizes
Fertilizep (wtf?)
Let's try a different example.
Soup -
777 - 666  - 88 - 7 on multitap
7 6 8 7 gives you a list like this, just click next to select:
pour
soup
pots
rots
sour
rous (???)
I hate it, but I guess it's better than tapping it all out. The errors are annoying, though...like trying to text my friend to tell them to bring over Lord of the Rings, it typed "Lose me the Rings" instead.
Ok now i get it. Just type in the letters of the word while ignoring the screen until you finish the word and then if there is more than one alternative, select the word you want. You can try this easy tutorial menu. It worked for me well coz its easy to understand. found it when i searched google for texting games.
MSG, that's basically what I meant. It's irritating.
I hate using Txt. Msg. Hey don't they have like some sort of Voice recognition that actually associates your words to text? Or didn't I see something with like some sort of Holographic imergy that you use like a keyboard or was that in 2032? txt msg. seems so old school.
Yeah but those holographic keyboards are even more of a pain. You can't feel the keys so you have to look down at the keyboard, but your fingers block the light so you can't see the keys... meh, it's just a mess. Try drawing a keyboard on a piece of paper and you'll see what I mean.
Ugh. those confuse me.
I just type it out.

T9 is a very good thing for speed texting only if you implement it correctly otherwise it can be detrimental if you dont know how to use it the right way. But its so easy really.
