Google Browser Sync
You've heard of it and for those who hasn't it's a handy extension for firefox that lets you synchronise bookmarks, passwords, history and session tabs across firefox on different PCs. I use it and I have Fedora Core 5 set up on my laptop and I'm able to have my existing desktop bookmarks and cookies instantly available on the laptop which has eliminated an entire genre of hassle. So stop emailing yourselfs those link's that you have on open tabs. If you live outside of the U.S. and download the xpi package directly you get this Error "This product is not available in your country". but try this Link.

Oh yeah and be advised the google toolbar is now installed by default on machines from: Dell, HP, GateWay, eMachines, and dozens of related brands. It is also being tagged onto other software packages. The mass majority of new machines coming online are now installed with google software by default.

Heh, nifty. Although all the bookmarks etc are also stored in a simple .html file, it is kinda useful.

There's already a bookmark syncing extension out there and has been for a long while, but the session tabs is kind of nifty (although thinking of many uses is kind of hard, I don't leave my computer until I'm done with whatever it was I was...doing). I don't use saved passwords though, I don't feel comfortable letting my browser store them.

I totally understand. :goodjob2: There are still a few things that needs to be reconfigured, for instance.
- You can’t choose a specific bookmark to keep in sync; either you let it synchronise all of them or none at all.
- It only works on a single browser session at a time.
As an added bonus, this extension makes a complete backup of all your bookmarks. If your system suffered a fatal crash, you can simply retrieve your bookmarks by installing the plugin again and logging in. You will not find this information listed anywhere but it exsist. I know :wink:

I think that's only natural. If you want to sync one bookmark, you could just as well simply add it with 2-3 clicks.

Yeah, that is very useful. :) It's like Windows Live Mail (desktop): It stores your email accounts (not the actual messages I think though, and definitely not the passwords) on the server so even if you reinstall WLM(D), you only have to log in to get all your account settings back. It all works as before (except, as I said, I think you don't retrieve your emails), you only have to reenter the passwords.
