This is a plugin for firefox that allows you to preview a link by hovering over it with your mouse.
The previews are fully functional pages that open in a little window over the current page

Huh, I hadn't heard of that.
Right now I'm using something similar, Browster, which works with Firefox and IE, but I didn't really install it intentionally, and it really annoys me, so when I'm feeling less lazy than normal I'm going to install it.
It sounds pretty neat. I'd use it if I had broadband (but I can see a few caveats, like with the Google Accelerator - what if you accidentally 'preview', say, the page to delete a post, and your posts start to mysteriously go missing?)
only text links
no buttons or anything
Mhm, you do get 'delete' text links.
Oh...Browster works with all links. That's why it's so annoying to me--if you're scrolling through a bunch of thumbnails, like on DeviantArt, or especially on YouTube, it always pops up a whole ton of embedded windows which all try to simultaneously load videos inside of them because you accidentally mouse over the link when you're scrolling through the page...
Ugh. It gets in the way a LOT.
can you change prefernces so that it doesn't get so obtuse?
Dunno. Cooliris might be able to, but all the Browster settings are screwed up because of some odd installation problems...
It's pretty cool. Firefox has a plugin that let's you automatically preview window all search results in Google, Yahoo, etc.
I also can't live without mouse gestures and scrapbook.
