This has been out for a long time but in case anyone hasn't seen it...
It's too bad Apple will probably never make something like this.

Looks kinda gay
I mean, what the fuck is with the scroll wheel on the back?
Will you have to flip it up to use it?
I sense serious design flaw
Gay can be used in a derogatory sense to mean a vague displeasure of something, for example, Unicorn's post was inexorably gay, or, this décor looks totally gay and finally my dad is gay. You might also say that spelling decor as décor is 'gay', but I'd blame that on Firefox's spell-checking and my obsessive compulsive tendency to not submit a post until all of the red underlines are gone and not at all as a result of my sexual orientation.Quote:
I know this is off topic, but what does gay have to do with anything?[/b]
~ ONUS ~
Agreed, but i think some habits, even without derogatory intentions, should be changed. Applying the term gay to anything that is unpleasant is one of those everyday automatisms that can highly be offensive, and i'm not even gay! Sorry if i pointed it out, but i know this guy in college that uses the word so many times that it REALLY gets annoying. Anyways, what was the topic about?
Way to get off topic guys...
The design does have its flaws, but it doesn't stop me from wanting one if they ever made it.
Looks good to me. By 'good' I mean 'if I wasn't broke I would get one.'
And by that I mean THAT LOOKS TOTALLY GHEI HUBABLAGBUAHLBL
Shut up.Quote:

Gay.
WTF, that looks absolutely inconventient and rather ridiculous. Though kinda cool, I wouldn't want something like that.

Finally... awesome.
Hahahaha. I was just about to post here. Me and a few friends watch a live update on Macworld, I kept thinking back to this thread :P
It costs quite a bit of money though. $499 for 8gigs I think, and a 2 year contract (though the contract is included in the price I believe). Whats not good though is it broke on stage at Macworld :P
$499 is the price that smartphones like XDAs are going for right now, so it's about the same price. If only it were cheaper.
The iPhone's not a smartphone!
Dumbphone?
I Talk is serveral Generations ahead of it's time. Did you guys see how it was like, just floating around all on it's own defying gravity? It even flips open on it's on.
Robert Scoble [click for article] - if you guys don't know him, where have you been? - isn't feeling so hot on the iPhone after all. Apparently some major Apple fans aren't either. I can't say that I care, but read his post and the article he links to, you might find it food for thought.

I was much more excited about the iPhone yesterday than I am today. Why? Cause reality is setting in. This thing is not as good as it seems. Paul Kedrosky has the details. He forgot a few things (he lists five)...[/b]
Hows that for Innovation. :goodjob2:

In other news, Cisco sues Apple for using the name iPhone which they put copyright on. Cisco will sell it to Apple for a lot of money though, but prohibits Apple to use the name until the deal is sealed.
A smartphone is usually defined as:
So basically something that can be upgraded - but you won't be able to do this :(Quote:
a smartphone is a platform device that allows software to be installed[/b]
I don't like the design as much as the iPods... no clickwheel. I think they should have gone for something simpler and cooler. What's the maximum storage capacity? If it's 8 GB then that's hardly enough for the amount of stuff that I have on my iPod. No, I wouldn't buy this.
No it's not running OSX
It's running a similar operating system that uses some OSX components but you can't run OSX applications on it so therefore it's not OSX
I want one. But I don't want to be tied in on a contract.
I agree that it doesn't have the zing that the original ipod had, design wise. But I think it's got something new, and considering that apple would have had to compe up with something new eventually.. I think they've done a pretty neat job :)
