Hi. I had about $200 worth of songs on my ipod nanno and my computer crashed. I have researched it on the apple site and i have not found anything on recovering my songs. It does say that you can set it to something on your computer in order to use it as a hard drive. Unfortunatley I had no way of noing this before my comp. crashed. The old songs are still on my ipod and I have loaded itunes on a new computer. Is ther anyway to put new songs on my ipod without losing the 300 I already had? Thx. :|

Well did you buy them with iTunes? If so then you may be screwed, Apple is very strict about letting people transfer music to a new computer. As a temporary solution, you can set your iPod to manually manage songs, so you can put songs on there manually without it overwriting your old ones. Beware though, you can't change it back without re-deleting the songs on your iPod.

Download and run a program called ephPod. Don't sync your music with iTunes, it'll clear the songs from the iPod. Another testament to Apple's not-so-intituive ways of working.
P.S. Some girls just came in here and saw MSG's avatar. "She looks like a fucking alien!". Ah, the woes of posting from lunch break.

Senuti or iPodDisk should do the trick if that doesn't work for you.
