Sooo laptop is in its death throws

Started right before finals which pissed me off but that's not important..

Basically every time I try to start it there's a blue screen with an error message on it, something to the effect of:

driver_somethinglalala_not_less_or_equal

Does anyone recognize this? If not I'll go find out what it is exactly.

Laptop cant get past this screen, so I'm willing to just erase everything that's on it and start over if I can, but I don't know how to do that. I'm trying to avoid calling the customer service people, heh.

seems to be caused by buggy drivers
but other people have reported overheating and faulty ram causing the error as well

I've heard that too.. how can I fix it? Ahhh I want my laptop back.

can you get into and use windows at all?

if not, you're going to have to try a live CD of some kind

Ah-ha
it's most likely a driver issue in that case

make sure you've got the right chipset & graphics drivers installed

On my old computer I actually have the same problem. It's just a little more stable, and just gives the blue-screen-of-death/cancer every now and then.

I might update those drivers, would be nice if it would help. Where can you find the drivers for... stuff... how do you even know what kind of stuff (hardware) you have.

Not really sure how you can fix it hence the name!!

As for drivers goto Start > Control Panel > System > Click the hardware tab > Device Manager

This will open up a box with all your devices in, from here you can right click on anything and select update driver, if there is an update it will download. Or wondows update is the best way to keep on top of these.
