mass video converter
i have a huge comp with entire series of my shows on it ranging from 6gig to 30 gig. does anyone no of a program that can handle this to convert the shows to MP4?
like maybe it has a large drag and drop and does one at a time or what ever, i just want it to convert while running in the background with out me re selecting little groups of shows.
can some one give me a name of a program that does this
it doesn't have to be freeware.
thanx

1) what format (container & codecs) are the videos in at the moment, or does it vary?
2) what format (container & codecs) do you want them in, or do you want to preserve the codecs, to avoid transcoding?
*edit*
also, is there a particular reason you want to use the MP4 container (or will any container do)?

iSquint. You can google it or I'm pretty sure that it's on Apple's website. It's freeware and will automatically resize the movies as well. It can do both MP4 and H.264 encoding (use H.264.)
Quicktime Pro and iMovie can also do that, but not in bulk and iMovie tends to waste space. For one at a time I would use Quicktime simply because it's made by Apple, but iSquint can do as many movies as you want successively. I assume that you already have Flip4Mac.
Be prepared to wait though, H.264 encoding is SLOW unless you have a hardware encoder. On my G4 is will do a movie in about eight hours, I hope you have an eight core computer if you are doing an entire series.

Oh, I don't know why, I assumed you had a Mac.
I found a much easier way to do that. Import all the movies that you want to convert into iTunes, Ctrl + Click on them, then press Convert Selection to iPod. I assume that it is the same on Windows.
